Lumos

Lumos is a charm that illuminates the tip of the caster's wand. It creates a beam of light, much like a flashlight. Witches and wizards often use it to navigate dark places. To extinguish the light, the counter-charm "Nox" is used. Harry Potter himself frequently used Lumos throughout the series.
