The Great Hall was Hogwarts' gathering place - located next to the Entrance Hall, students and teachers ate and congregated for events, most prominently the Hogwarts Sorting Ceremony.

A standard Quidditch pitch was an oval shaped field with three hooped goal posts at either end and surrounded by stands. Hogwarts had its own pitch where house teams were able to train and compete in their own Quidditch Cup.

The Hogwarts library contained many thousands of books, manuscripts and documents. Students were able to read and borrow most titles, although access to the Restricted Section was much more tightly regulated.

A magical room on the seventh floor of Hogwarts castle, the Room of Requirement appeared when students were in particular need of it and would provide whatever was required. Also known as the Come and Go Room, and Room of Hidden Things, it could be used for anything.

Deep in the dungeons, the Slytherin common room was located behind a bare stretch of wall and required a password for entrance.

Close to the Hogwarts kitchens, the Hufflepuff common room was hidden behind a large pile of barrels. A cosy, low-ceilinged room decorated in yellow and black, the Hufflepuff common room was full of honey-coloured wood and thriving plants.

One of the airiest rooms at Hogwarts, the Ravenclaw common room was located at the top of Ravenclaw Tower, accessed by a spiral staircase. The entrance featured a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle that required a riddle to be answered.
